The Federal Regional Court of the 3rd Region (TRF-3) ordered the return of retired military police officer Ronnie Lessa to the Rio de Janeiro prison system within 30 days. Currently, Lessa is imprisoned at the Federal Penitentiary of Campo Grande, in Mato Grosso do Sul. The information is from G1.

Ronnie Lessa is identified as the author of the shots that killed councilwoman Marielle Franco and driver Anderson Gomes in March 2018, in Rio de Janeiro. The retired police officer has been in prison since 2019.

Lessa reached a plea bargain agreement with the Federal Police (PF). The information provided by the military police officer resulted in the arrest of Chiquinho Brazão, federal deputy, Domingos Brazão, advisor to the State Court of Auditors (TCE) of Rio, and delegate Rivaldo Barbosa.

O Metropolises contacted the Rio Justice Department and the TRF-3 about the case, but received no response. The space remains open.

Marielle case

Councilor Marielle Franco and driver Anderson Gomes were shot dead on March 14, 2018, in the center of Rio de Janeiro. According to information from the PF, the murder of the councilor was ordered by the Brazão brothers and planned by Rivaldo Barbosa, head of the Rio Civil Police at the time of the crime.

Still according to the PF, Marielle Franco was murdered as a result of friction with Chiquinho Brazão, who was a Rio councilor at the time, over a project to regularize illegal land in areas dominated by the militia.

Brothers Brazão and Rivaldo Barbosa were arrested on March 24 in Rio de Janeiro. On the same day, they were transferred to the Federal Penitentiary of Brasília.

However, Chiquinho was sent to the Federal Penitentiary of Campo Grande, Domingos to Porto Velho and Rivaldo remained in Brasília.
