Only two universities in Bahia have the highest score in the MEC evaluation

The federal universities of Bahia (Ufba) and Southern Bahia (UFSB) are part of the 54 higher education institutions in the country that achieved the maximum score in a federal quality indicator, the IGC (General Course Index), related to 2022.

As a result, the data was released this Tuesday (2) by Inep (National Institute of Educational Studies and Research), the body of the MEC (Ministry of Education) responsible for the evaluation.

Namely, the IGC scale goes from 1 to 5. The first two ranges (1 and 2) are considered inadequate, and institutions may suffer sanctions from the MEC. On the other hand, concepts 4 and 5 are considered quality, and 3 indicates the minimum expected.

With a score of 5 (very high index):

Federal University of Bahia (UFBA);

Federal University of Southern Bahia (UFSB).

With a score of 4 (high index):

Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB);

Federal University of Western Bahia (UFOB);

Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health;

Catholic University of Salvador (UCSal);

Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Bahia (IFBA);

State University of Southwest Bahia (Uesb);

State University of Feira de Santana (Uefs);

University of Salvador;

Anísio Teixeira College;

Faculty of Technology and Sciences (FTC);

Senai Cimatec University Center;

Jorge Amado University Center;

UniFTC University Center.

With a score of 3 (average index):
