According to information released during the meeting in which the document was signed, the Vacancies Center will be responsible for receiving and processing vacancy allocation requests made by the Judiciary. This way, it will be possible to indicate the availability of places in care units and, in cases of lack of places, teenagers will be included on a waiting list until a suitable place becomes available.
The president of TJ/AL, judge Fernando Tourinho, highlighted the importance of this Center to avoid overcrowding in socio-educational units, contributing to the improvement of the system as a whole. He praised the changes implemented by the Government of Alagoas and highlighted the importance of continuing to evolve to benefit the entire society.
Currently, the Alagoas Socio-Educational System has 350 vacancies, of which 142 are filled. The Vacancy Center, under the responsibility of Seprev’s Superintendence of Socio-Educational Measures (Sumese), will be crucial for the management and coordination of these vacancies, ensuring a better allocation of the teenagers served.
In addition to the president of the TJ/AL and the head of Seprev, the superintendent of Sumese, representatives of the Prison System Monitoring and Inspection Group, the National Council of Justice and other members of the judiciary were present at the meeting to sign the ordinance. The creation of the Vacancies Center represents an important step towards improving the Socio-educational System of Alagoas and ensuring more efficient and fair service for young people in compliance with socio-educational measures.
