In a joint action, the Civil Police of Nova Hartz and the Military Brigade dismantled a criminal scheme that operated in the region with theft, reception and dismantling of motorcycles, in addition to drug trafficking. Two men were arrested red-handed in the operation, which took place on Monday afternoon (29).
The investigation began after the theft of a motorcycle last weekend. Civil police officers, through investigations, located the vehicle at a facade garbage recycling point in the Planalto neighborhood in Parobé. At the scene, in addition to the stolen motorcycle, the suspect was arrested for the crime.
Investigations revealed that recycling acted as a front for other illicit activities. At the scene, agents found several rocks of crack and discovered that the space was used for drug trafficking and consumption.
The Civil Police investigation also indicated that the arrested suspects acted in association with other individuals. Together, they stole motorcycles, dismantled them or tampered with the license plates (using cold plates) to resell them on the black market.
During the operation, police officers also located a 50-inch smart TV, stolen from a residence in Parobé at the end of January this year. In addition, a second motorcycle was seized that the suspect had inappropriately appropriated.
The two men were arrested red handed for the crimes of reception, drug trafficking and criminal association.
