With expectations of receiving more than 50 thousand people in May, the Events Center will host everything from congresses to international conferences

Around 53 thousand people are expected to visit the Ceará Events Center (CEC) next May. The State Government equipment, managed by the Tourism Secretariat (Setur), will host congresses, seminars, fairs and even an international conference, strengthening the business tourism segment.

The program begins with the 3rd Diabetes Update and Innovation Forum, promoted by the Brazilian Diabetes Society – Ceará Regional. From Wednesday (1st) to Friday (3rd), topics such as microvascular complications, insulin-free treatment of type 2 diabetes, obesity and the future of therapeutic alternatives will be discussed.

Shalom will then hold, on the 4th and 5th, the Family Congress with the theme “Families, receive the Spirit of Love”. ExpoEcomm, an itinerant e-commerce event that tours several cities in Brazil, will be hosted between the 14th and 15th. The IX Brazilian Congress of Criminal Law, the largest of its kind ever held in the country, will take place on the 17th and 18th of May.

On the 22nd and 23rd, the CEC hosts Tourism Connections. Between the 23rd and 25th the 24th edition of Bazar La Boutique will take place. Smile & HOF in will take place for the first time in Ceará, on the 23rd and 24th. The event is one of the largest in Latin America within the dental sector and will feature local and national speakers. On the weekend of the 25th and 26th, the Shalom Catholic community retreat will be held.

Once the program is complete, the CEC will host, on the 29th and 31st, the 2024 Diversity Seminar and Tecnofrigorífico – 13th Animal Protein Industry, Processing, Automation and Logistics Fair.

International events

As it is one of the most modern equipment in Latin America and the best space for holding large events in the Northeast region, the CEC also has international events in its programming. Held simultaneously, the 17th Brazilian Congress of Videosurgery and the 6th edition of the Brazilian and Latin American Congress of Robotic Surgery will bring together more than 2,000 doctors from various countries. Promoted by the Brazilian Society of Minimally Invasive Surgery (Sobracil) on the 16th, 17th and 18th of May, both stand out as the biggest airline meetings, discussing global news in robotic surgery, the connection between digital surgery and augmented reality, metaverse virtual reality and medicine in the third dimension.

The XX International Conference on Building Pathology and Constructions Repair is another international event that will take place at CEC, on May 29th and 31st. The Conference stands out as an opportunity to acquire new knowledge and exchange experiences in areas related to the rehabilitation and reinforcement of structures.

Farewell tour

On May 10th, one of the most popular pagode groups in the country, Só Pra Contrariar (SPC), will perform on the “SPC Acústico 2 – O Último Encontro” tour. The performance will be one of the last with the presence of singer Alexandre Pires in the band. Founded in 1989, the group features musicians Fernando Pires, Hamilton Faria, Juliano Pires, Luís Fernando, Sérgio Sales, Alexandre Popó and Alexandre Pires in its original lineup.
