From Wednesday (3) onwards, the Guanandizão Gymnasium in Campo Grande will host the Women’s Futsal Super Cup, a tournament that brings together the six best female futsal teams in Brazil. In this competition, the state of Mato Grosso do Sul will be represented by Serc/UCDB, a partnership between Sociedade Esportiva Recreativa Chapadão and Universidade Católica Dom Bosco.
The team from Mato Grosso do Sul is coached by professor Luís Fernando Borges, known as “Nando”, and is made up of 16 athletes: Vanessa, Japa, Queila, Bruna, Thaís, Jana, Aline, Luana, Thaynara, Kamila, Aninha, Gabi, Maysa, Evelyn, Dani and Camile.
“The team is training well, they are excited for the competition, a very difficult competition, which we also participated in last year and the expectation is high to play a good game”, explained coach Nando. “The teams we are seeing in Campo Grande are the best in the country, so we have to do very well to be able to play a good game and have a positive result”, he also highlighted.
The team’s participation was guaranteed after finishing third in the Copa do Brasil. The other participants were determined by the main national tournaments organized and/or endorsed by the CBFS (Brazilian Futsal Confederation). The champion and runner-up of the Women’s Futsal League are entitled to a place, in addition to the runner-up and third-best placed teams in the Copa do Brasil and Taça Brasil.
In addition to Serc/UCDB, the state of Mato Grosso do Sul will be represented in the competition by scorekeepers and timekeepers Adanclei Neves Barros and Lais Paula Caceres.
The home team’s debut match takes place on Thursday (4), against the Santa Catarina team Leoas da Serra, at 7 pm. The semi-final and final matches are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday (April 6 and 7), respectively. The champion team guarantees the right to represent Brazil in the Copa Libertadores Feminina de Futsal 2024.
Entry is free to all matches, which will also be broadcast on the CBFS TV channel on YouTube.
