Dairy production in Sergipe: A new era for dairy farming in Sergipe is about to begin with the construction of the Leite Aductor, a megaproject that aims to take water from the São Francisco River to Nossa Senhora da Glória and neighboring municipalities. With planned investments of R$250 million, the initiative promises to double annual milk production in the region, benefiting more than 23 thousand families and creating new job opportunities.

The construction of the Milk Pipeline, more than 100 kilometers long, represents a milestone in the economic and social development of Sergipe’s upper hinterland. The project, announced by the State Government, aims to meet the region’s water demand, boosting milk production and generating benefits for thousands of families.

The initiative, which involves a significant investment of R$250 million, will be led by the Sergipe Regional Development Company (Coderse), and envisages the construction of a network of pipes, pumping stations and reservoirs to supply water in rural areas. . The Secretary of State for Agriculture, Agrarian Development and Fisheries, Zeca Ramos da Silva, highlights that the Milk Pipeline is essential for increasing the water supply in the region, which, consequently, will contribute to the growth of the cattle herd and the improvement of quality of life of producers.

Economic Impact: In addition to benefiting dairy production, the Milk Aductor also promises to boost the local economy, with the creation of new jobs and an increase in the income of families involved in agricultural activities. It is estimated that the pipeline will serve more than 9,500 agricultural establishments, benefiting around 204,000 medium and large animals.

Outcome: With the beginning of the bidding process to prepare the studies and projects for the pipeline, the expectation is that the work will begin soon, providing a new horizon for dairy farming in Sergipe. The Milk Pipeline not only represents an advance in the region’s water infrastructure, but also an opportunity for sustainable development and wealth generation for local communities.
