The president of the Amazonas Court of Auditors (TCE-AM), counselor Yara Amazônia Lins, received the state secretary of Education and School Sports (Seduc), Arlete Mendonça this Monday morning (1st). The meeting was to discuss the inspections to be carried out within the scope of public education in the State, in addition to resolving issues identified during the last inspection of the Blitz TCE program, held on March 15, at the Sólon de Lucena State School.

According to secretary Arlete Mendonça, after carrying out the TCE Blitz at the State School, adjustments were already made to the format of the classes, which were being carried out through a rotation system due to repairs at the institution. According to the secretary, students who were in the hybrid mode returned to the in-person format on March 25th. Based on this feedback, Seduc’s management intends to demonstrate to the Court of Auditors its commitment to improvements in the education service for the population of Amazonas.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Intelligence, Sérgio Fontes; the Secretary of External Control, Stanley Scherrer; the legal director, Rafael Albuquerque; the head of the Education Audit department, Adrianne Freire and advisor Jorge Veras, representing the vice-president of the Court of Auditors, advisor Fabian Barbosa.

Inspection

With the aim of investigating complaints received through the communication channels of the Blitz TCE program regarding alleged irregularities, the program carried out, on March 15th, an inspection at the Sólon de Lucena State School. Relying on ten technical auditors, the inspection investigated information from the educational institution’s manager about reports of unfinished works that were forcing the use of a class rotation system and hybrid teaching in some classes.

Also during the inspections, team members inspected the school’s infrastructure, such as classrooms, bathrooms, canteen and common areas, as well as the availability of food in the warehouse, among others.
