A 27-year-old man on the run for drug trafficking and crimes against property was shot during an approach carried out by the Military Police on Monday afternoon (1st). The case was registered on block 603 Norte, in Palmas. He was taken to the hospital by the military.

According to the PM’s preliminary report, a team spotted the suspect in the northern region of Palmas and he reportedly resisted the approach. The PM also stated that “it was necessary to use force, with a firearm, in order to stop the unjust aggression.” No soldiers were injured.

The suspect who was shot was rescued and taken to the Emergency Care Unit in the north of Palmas, where he is undergoing tests. There is still no information about where the suspect was shot and how many shots he received.

The police reported that a firearm, a revolver type, was seized at the scene, which must be presented to the delegate on duty for appropriate procedures.
