Federal Police participate in Operation Mar de Minas in the Capitol region this holiday


During this Holy Week holiday, between March 29th and 31st, the Federal Police, together with state and federal security forces, as well as partner institutions are in the Lago de Furnas region, in Minas Gerais, to continue the land, sea and air actions aimed at combating irregularities and crimes, within the scope of Operation Mar de Minas, coordinated by the State Secretariat of Justice and Public Security (Sejusp).

The third edition of “Mar de Minas” began on 9/2 and ended this Sunday (31/3). In this last week of actions, the so-called “D Week” of activities is held, when data is compiled and preventive, repressive and inspection activities are reinforced. The Integrated Command and Control Center (CICC) truck will be in Capitolio/MG, bringing together all security forces and other bodies.


The use of vehicles, aircraft and boats intensifies the work, whose main objective is to create a safety belt in the region and reduce criminal practices and crimes during the holidays, a time when the region records a high number of tourists; Furthermore, the actions seek to ensure greater security for residents and businesses in the region.

The first Operation Mar de Minas took place in September 2022. Due to the success of the initiative, the third edition was launched this year. The balance of Operation Mar de Minas III will be released on Tuesday (2/4).

The following institutions participate in Operation Mar de Minas III: State Secretariat of Justice and Public Security (Sejusp), Military Police of Minas Gerais (PMMG), Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG), Military Fire Brigade of Minas Gerais (CBMMG) ), State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainable Development (Semad), Brazilian Navy (MB), Federal Police (PF), Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (RFB), Minas Gerais Agricultural Institute (Ima) and National Civil Aviation Agency ( Anac).
