Railway line that transports the most passengers in the country, the Estrada de Ferro Vitória a Minas will show in its passenger cars, until the 23rd, short films produced by residents neighboring the railway.

Operated by Vale, the train connects Cariacica (ES) to Belo Horizonte on a 664-kilometer route and is widely used by residents around the 29 stations along the route. Last year, it transported 741 thousand passengers.

The film project on the train includes ten productions made by residents of different municipalities along the route, which are shown in economy and executive class passenger cars. Each one lasts 12 to 22 minutes.

The train leaves every day at 7am from Pedro Nolasco station, in Cariacica, and arrives at around 8:30pm in the capital of Minas Gerais.

At the same time, another train leaves Belo Horizonte and ends the journey in Cariacica, at 8:30 pm. Among the stopping points are Colatina, Aimorés, Conselheiro Pena, Governador Valadares, Ipatinga and João Monlevade.

The films that are part of the Curta Vitória a Minas Stories competition have varied themes, such as nature and African ancestry, tradition and fantasy and the influence of rock on the identity of the residents of Colatina.

The Vitória a Minas Railway is one of only two interstate passenger railways in operation in the country, both under the administration of Vale.

The other is the Carajás Railway (São Luís-Parauapebas), which last year transported 398,000 passengers over its 861 kilometers and is characterized by being a “stop” train – just like the Vitória to Minas.

To participate in the project, producers had access to basic principles such as script, direction, production, photography direction, editing and copyright.

The films on display are “Reciclando Vidas e Sonhos” (Ana Paula da Conceição Imberti), “O T-Rex e a Pedra Lascada” (Luan Ériclis Damazio da Silva), “Colatina, the Princess of Rock” (Nilo José Rezende Tardin ), “The Last Train” (Fabrício Machado Bertoni), “Um Ponto Rotineiro” (Jaslinne Pyetra Matias dos Santos), “Lia, Entre o Rio e a Ferrovia” (Elisangela Bello Pereira Barcellos), “Holerite” (Ademir de Sena Moreira), “Santa Cruz” (Rita Bordone), “A Look at Maternity” (Patricia Araújo Azevedo Alves) and “Poisoned Bicycle” (Luciene da Conceição Mendes Crepalde).
