Moraes grants provisional freedom to PMDF colonels arrested on 8/1

247 – Colonels Klepter Rosa, Fábio Augusto Vieira and Marcelo Casimiro, from the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF), received this Thursday (28) the grant of provisional freedom, signed by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the Federal Supreme Court (STF) , informs the Wide Angular column of the Metrópoles portal.

The trio had been imprisoned since August 18, 2023 on charges related to the Bolsonarist terrorist acts of January 8 of that year. The accusations involved omission, violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, coup d’état, qualified damage, deterioration of listed heritage and violation of duties.

Despite provisional freedom, they must comply with precautionary measures, such as having to respect home confinement at night and on weekends, prohibition of leaving the Federal District and the obligation to use an electronic ankle monitor and to report to the Criminal Executions Court of the DF on Mondays. In addition, their passports were canceled and their possession of firearms was suspended. The use of social networks and communication with other people under investigation are also prohibited.
