The man who died after drowning in the Pratinha River waterfall, in the city of Chapadão do Céu, in Goiás, was identified as Thiago Gaia da Silva, 36 years old.
He drowned last Sunday (24), but his body was only located this Tuesday (26).
Thiago was in Chapadão do Sul for work. According to the Chapadense News website, after the accident, the Chapadão do Sul Fire Department was called.
As a considerable amount of time had already passed, rescue would no longer be possible, in addition to the fact that it was an incident under the jurisdiction of another state.
The river is very popular with families on weekends for leisure. Some enjoy fishing and barbecues as entertainment.
The place has a waterfall, very beautiful, but a depth of more than 9 meters. Military personnel from the Chapadão do Sul Fire Department have already done diving training at this location.
To enter the water you need to know the river and be prepared to swim.
As the rescue was carried out by divers from the Goiás Fire Department, no further details of the operation were provided, such as the name of the worker.
