IMPORTANCE

Donating blood is a gesture of solidarity that saves the lives of people who have suffered accidents and undergone transfusions, transplants, surgeries and other procedures.

A bag of blood contains, on average, 450ml. One collection, which takes eight to twelve minutes, can save three to four lives.

In an exclusive interview with State Post Officethe public relations manager of Rede Hemosul, Mayra Franceschi, stated that donating blood is a gesture of love for others.

“Blood donation is a gesture of solidarity, the only way to save lives when you need a blood transfusion. The act of saving someone you don’t know is one of the greatest demonstrations of love that human beings can practice. Donating blood is a an act of social responsibility, a citizen’s duty. A look of concern for others. It is also knowing that the world is moving and tomorrow it could be me or one of my loved ones”, explained the manager.
