The Ministry of Health released, this Thursday (28), the complete list of 154 municipalities that will receive doses of the dengue vaccine in April. The announcement of the expansion of selected locations to receive the vaccines, with this third shipment, had been made a day earlier by the department.

The 154 new municipalities are part of 11 health regions with a resident population equal to or greater than 100 thousand inhabitants. In common, the chosen cities have high transmission rates of the disease in recent months.

They are: Central (ES); Betim (MG); Uberaba (MG); Uberlândia/Araguari (MG); Recife PE); Apucarana (PR); Greater Florianópolis (SC); Guarani Aquifer (SP); Metropolitan Region of Campinas (SP); São José do Rio Preto (SP) and São Paulo.

The vaccine is intended for children and adolescents aged 10 to 14, the federal government’s target audience, as it accounts for the highest proportion of hospitalizations due to the disease.

The vaccination schedule consists of two doses that must be administered with an interval of three months between them.
