Historian Marcus Vinícius has already explained to the g1in 2017, which Every city has the right to set its birthday and this is an attribution of the municipality itself made through the Legislative and Executive powers that propose a date, generally with some connection to the history of the region, which comes into force after being sanctioned by the mayor.

A little about the history of the municipalities:

On April 7, 1904, the Territory of Acre was reorganized and the administration of the area was readjusted into three departments, called Alto Acre, Alto Purus and Alto Juruá, led by mayors appointed by the President of the Republic. According to the act, communication between mayors and between them and the federal government would take place through a delegate resident in the city of Manaus, also appointed by the Federal Executive.

In 1920, the last reorganization of the Territory of Acre occurred in the First Republic, approved on October 1st. It was determined that its administration would be in charge of a governor appointed by the President of the Republic, who would be responsible for almost all of the responsibilities previously handed over to the mayors of the departments and who would be assisted by three vice-governors and a general secretary.

The 1920 act established the city of Rio Branco as the capital of the territory and assigned the appointment of intendants to the governor, previously the responsibility of the President of the Republic. The creation of new municipalities was also authorized, as long as they met certain requirements.

The Territory of Acre would undergo more significant transformations under the government of Getúlio Vargas, including an administrative reform on December 30, 1936. In June 1962, Acre was elevated to the category of State.

At the time of the constitution of Acre, in 1963, the creation of several other municipalities was planned, but this plan was only implemented in 1976 with the creation of other cities such as Senador Guiomard and Epitaciolândia. After this, in 1992, there was another discussion in which a territorial division was proposed for the municipalities of Acre where some municipalities lost territories and others were created, reaching the number of 22 that make up Acre today.
