The record shows a man without a helmet, wearing flip-flops and a delivery backpack, when he overtakes a police vehicle, close to the station. Then, he starts riding the motorcycle on a stretch of road. Further ahead, he passes another car, but standing in the vehicle, this time, and starts prancing again without using his hands, soon after. The entire action lasts less than a minute. Check it out below.
In 2023, law 14,562 made it a crime to drive vehicles without license plates or with chassis tampering, with a penalty of four to eight years in prison and a fine. Furthermore, the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB) classifies demonstrating or exhibiting a dangerous maneuver as a very serious offense, generating a fine, in addition to suspension of the right to drive and seizure of the vehicle. The CTB also considers it a very serious offense to drive without a helmet, which may result in a fine and suspension of the right to drive, in addition to removal of the vehicle.
Driving while wearing shoes that do not fit firmly on your feet or that compromise the use of the pedals, such as flip-flops, and using only one hand – except to signal, change gear or activate vehicle equipment and accessories – is a medium infraction, with application of fine. When contacted, the Military Police reported that “audiovisual material, as well as content posted on social networks, needs to be presented in police records to become an object for investigative procedures.”
