Argentina made itself available to the Brazilian authorities for immediate assistance to the population of Rio Grande do Sul. The Argentine government expressed solidarity with the South region and said it could contribute the necessary elements to assist the victims.
Yván Gil Pinto, Venezuela’s foreign minister, also offered support to the Brazilian government. On Friday (3) he published a video showing flooded houses, submerged cars and displaced people in Rio Grande do Sul, offering solidarity on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro.
The President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Souza, conveyed solidarity to the victims’ families and President Lula. ”Following the devastating floods that have hit the state of Rio Grande do Sul, causing the deaths of dozens of people, as well as the displacement of numerous families, and seriously affecting thousands of homes and essential infrastructure,” the statement described.
