This year’s Campus Party addresses the theme ‘To infinity and beyond’ and celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Brasília Luiz Cruls Planetarium. FAPDF is one of the institutional supporters of the event.
“Brazil is a storehouse of talent, a young country with great potential and it is events like this that give rise to young entrepreneurs and startups”, said the vice-governor of the DF, Celina Leão.
In an interview with FAPDF, the Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation (SECTI-DF), Leonardo Reisman, highlighted the importance of the event. “Without a doubt, it is a gift for the city. Campus is one of the biggest technology festivals in the world and this is the 6th edition. This year is even more special, because it celebrates the 50th anniversary of our Planetarium, part of the event’s theme is Astronomy. So, leave a legacy for our city and also for the planetarium. In addition, of course, to the ever so important themes, the lectures and experiences for families. This edition has robotics, drones, food printing and so many other attractions. It is also important to highlight the part of the campers, who sleep, who come from Brasília, other states and also from outside Brazil to spend these days camping here. In these four days, I am sure that we will have many good ideas emerging and, who knows, startups, as well as legacies for the city”, highlighted the secretary.
“If we work together we can have the biggest Campus Party in the world, because Brasília is the capital. For this we need the support of public institutions. Let’s work to make Brasília the best Campus Party ever held. Here is the digital idealization of kids and this helps in the development of our country”, said the creator of Campus Party, Francisco Farrugia.
“We have published 13 calls to help further develop science and technology in the Federal District. FAPDF has been developing several projects to encourage research and innovation in the capital”, said the Scientific, Technological and Innovation Superintendent (SUCTI), Renata Vianna.
The event aims to bring together more than 100 thousand people in the free area (Open Campus), over the 5 days of the event, which runs until Sunday (31). The organizers encourage the holding of workshops and competitions that allow the development of new digital tools for the most diverse fields of society.
Campus Brasília will also feature airplane, racing car and submarine simulators, in realistic environments.
