Globo selects Marcos Mion to lead live broadcast of historic event

Globo decided to choose Marcos Mion to lead one of the biggest entertainment events in Brazil in 2024, with an expectation of 1.5 million people. The presenter will be responsible for guiding the live broadcast of the Madonna show that will take place on Copacabana beach, in Rio de Janeiro, on May 4th. Music journalist Kenya Sade will be responsible for dividing the work at the event, which will be shown on open TV, on Multishow and also on Globoplay.

Globo selected Marcus Majella and Laura Vicente to act as behind-the-scenes reporters, interviewing the public who will be on the beach in the south of Rio. “Madonna, our queen of pop, teaches us about power, transgression, freedom. I’m a big fan of hers and I confess that the penny hasn’t sunk in yet. I was very emotional when I received the news, I revisited my journey, I cried and I was thrilled. The Celebration Tour in Rio show will be Madonna’s only show in Latin America. The tour, taken to North America and European countries, represents the celebration of the Queen of Pop’s 40-year career. The event is sponsored by Itaú, which celebrates 100 years of existence in 2024. Produced by the company Bonus Track, The image capture design is being designed by Globo in partnership with director Jonas Akerlund, who is a very renowned music video director and a long-time partner of the singer.
