A few weeks ago, Netflix premiered O Caso Asunta and Bebê Rena, two series that were popular with subscribers. Without making as much noise but still widely popular, Queen of Tears It was also made available via streaming, a K-drama that, today, is in fifth place among the most watched on the platform.
To give you an idea, Queen of Tears became one of the most watched productions in the history of South Korea, with more than 4 million households hooked. Developed by Park Ji-eun and starring Kim Soo-hyun and Ji-won Kim, the miniseries has, so far, 14 episodes, with two remaining to complete its entirety.

In the plot, we follow the story of a couple of tycoons who are not going through their best moments. Hong Hae-in is the heiress of Queens Group, the largest department store conglomerate in South Korea; and Baek Hyun-woo is a former company employee with whom she fell in love.
Immersed in a world of business intrigue, the two end up getting married, but soon find themselves immersed in a deep marital crisis. When a spark of love blooms again, they begin to overcome difficulties together, fighting for their relationship.
It is worth mentioning that, after its release, fans began to theorize that the series would be inspired by a real case that made the South Korean tabloids in the 1990s – more specifically, Samsung heiress Lee Boo Jin’s relationship with his father’s bodyguard, In Woo Jae. The show’s creator, Eun-ji Park, never confirmed nor denied the hypothesis, adding even more fuel to the speculation.
