Circuito Mineiro Street Skate 2024 is broadcast on Rede Minas, this Sunday (31)
Public broadcaster from Minas Gerais shows the competition that brings together athletes from Minas Gerais and Brazil in São Lourenço
This weekend, skateboarding athletes from Minas Gerais and Brazil will be in São Lourenço, in the southern region, in the first phase of the Mineiro Street Skate Circuit, a contest worth medals and R$17,000 in prizes. Rede Minas follows the maneuvers and broadcasts, live, the final men’s master and amateur competition, on Sunday (31), at 4pm.
The Mineiro Street Skate Circuit is an important sporting event. The champions and classifieds gain a place in the Brazilian Skate Confederation championships. There are more than one hundred athletes from almost ten Brazilian states participating in the competition. Some of them are Olympic promises.
Street skateboarding emerged in the 1970s in the United States. In Brazil, the first runway was opened in 1976, in Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro. This type of sport, which reached the Olympic Games in the 2020 edition in Tokyo, simulates urban architecture. These are courses with obstacles, such as stairs and handrails.
The Mineiro Street Skate Circuit is organized by the Minas Gerais State Skate Federation, Plínio Eventos and Sl Street. It is carried out by the City of São Lourenço. The event also has the support of Empresa Mineira de Comunicação (EMC), through Rede Minas.
