Papo das Sete: Sudeco Superintendent explains about financing

The superintendent of Sudeco, Rose Modesto (União Brasil), was interviewed in the segment “Papo das 7”, on Bom Dia MS, this Thursday (2). During the interview, the superintendent explained how financing works for micro and small businesses and promised investment guarantees to businesspeople in Mato Grosso do Sul. Rose reported that during the last Sudeco caravans, businesspeople complained that they went in search of financing, but were unsuccessful due to the banks’ rules for granting credit.

To meet demand, the Sudeco caravan will offer another incentive for micro and small companies to have access to financing lines from the Central-West Constitutional Fund (FCO), the Guarantee Fund for Micro and Small Companies (Fampe). The initiative is in partnership with Sebrae.

“Each financial institution has its own rules and analyzes the profile of the customer seeking financing. The importance of Sudeco is when it promotes this type of project, the caravan, with the aim of bringing entrepreneurs, small business owners, even closer together with these financial institutions, answering questions, teaching how to carry out a project, when it is a higher value, but the bank has this prerogative.”

One of them is the real guarantee, which in practice has been the main difficulty encountered by businesspeople who have resorted to Caravan. To resolve this, the Fampe proposal emerged.

In 2023, the Sudeco caravan passed through Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso and Goiás, launching new lines of financing from the Constitutional Financing Fund of the Central-West: FCO Mulher Empreendedora, FCO Irrigação and FCO Leite.

The Sudeco superintendent clarifies that Fampe works as a guarantor for the businessman and covers most of the amount needed as a guarantee. As a rule, the available value of the fund cannot exceed R$300,000 and whoever uses it will pay 1% more per month on top of the operation..

“That’s why we’re coming with this new feature now in this caravan, creating Fampe, which will guarantee 80% of the operation. From May onwards, banks and institutions that operate the FCO will be available to work with Fampe”.

With the agreement signed, the banks are in the system implementation phase and therefore, the project will start operating in May. After that, anyone who wants to use Fampe simply looks for one of the banks included in the Central-West Constitutional Fund.
