This Saturday afternoon, Corinthians resumed their winning ways in the Paulista U20. Against Juventus, at Rua Javari, in the third round, Timão won the match 3-0.

After a lackluster start, the squad led by Danilo opened the scoring with Thomas Agustín, who hit a shot into the corner. Despite pressure from Juventus for a draw, André and Laércio increased the score in the second half and gave final numbers to the duel.

With the result, the Parque São Jorge club reached seven points in the State Championship, occupying first place alongside EC São Bernardo. Corinthians, it is worth remembering, came from two games without winning this season.

Write it down, Faithful! Corinthians returns to the pitch next Tuesday. At 3pm, at Sesc Venda Nova, Timãozinho visits América-MG for the fifth round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship.

Danilo returned to rotate the team and had new additions from the Under-17s to join the starting team, with Denner, Dieguinho and Gui Negão, after the absence of three athletes who were removed from the match. Therefore, Timão went to the field with: Cadu; Vitinho, Renato, Rafa Venâncio and Denner; Thomas, André and Yuske; Dieguinho, Kayke and Gui Negão.

My Timon

On the bench, the coach had the following athletes available: Cauã Vasconcelos, Pellegrin, Caio Garcez, Bahia, Caipira, Messias, Luiz Fernando, Láercio and Luiz Eduardo.

Juventus, in turn, started the game with: Matheus; Alexsander, Guilherme, Viniciu and Lucas Roberto; Felipe Flat, Arthur Pierry and Vitor Wandeur; Thiaguinho, Henrique and Ariel Ferreira.

The game

First time

The match started at a slow pace, under the sun on Rua Javari. Corinthians had possession of the ball and faced solid pressing from Juventus, who denied space and looked for quick moves to hurt the black and white defense.

After a lot of competition, the first chance came after seven minutes. Henrique took a risk from a distance, from the central stripe, but caught the ball weakly, facilitating Cadu’s action. Four minutes later, it was Thiaguinho’s turn to finish, also without success.

Timão’s difficult start became calmer at 13, with the first offensive arrivals. Gui Negão advanced from the left and passed the marking. Upon reaching the baseline, the center forward crossed into the penalty area and found Yuske. The midfielder, however, caught the ball underneath, facing the goal, and threw it over the top.

The heat took away the speed of the match, making set pieces important in the duel. Juventus almost took advantage in this way, in the 21st minute, with hits and rebounds in the area, close to the goal line. Cadu didn’t leave the goal, but Corinthians’ defense cleared the danger.

After a break for hydration, the black and white squad once again bothered the home team. Kayke turned to the left, passing two markers, and crossed, at 34. The pass was strong and Dieguinho, close to the second post, didn’t reach it.

Corinthians pressure was rewarded two minutes later. Corinthians stole the ball in the offensive sector and advanced with Thomas Agustín. The Argentine played with Gui Negão, who failed to make the precise pass, but disrupted the opponent’s defense. The midfielder took advantage of the surplus and finished firmly, in the right corner, to open the scoring. 1 to 0 Corinthians.

Corinthians had almost all of the final minutes under control, but almost conceded in stoppage time. Guilherme headed in after a corner kick, finishing wide and scaring Timão’s defense.

Second time

Juventus came back from the break more aggressive. The home team forced plays on the left with Thiaguinho, but did not cause much danger to Timão.

Corinthians’ response, however, almost led to the second goal. After three minutes, André received the ball on the right and made the pass into the area towards Gui Negão. The attacker took the lead and passed the marker. The finish was strong, but it exploded onto the crossbar. Afterwards, Denner also tried, but was blocked.

Danilo decided to make the first changes after ten minutes. Dieguinho and Yuske left the field for Caipira and Luiz Fernando to enter.

Soon after the changes, Corinthians experienced different situations. Juventus’ exchange of passes from the left reached Ariel, who finished from the left, but stopped at Cadu. Timão launched a counterattack in the same sector, but Kayke didn’t reach it and missed the chance.

Despite pressure from Juventus, it was the Parque São Jorge club that found the net. At 16, Kayke found André, who moved on to Caipira. The full-back made the feint and tried to cross, which ended up at the steering wheel’s feet. He adjusted himself in the penalty area and finished from the left, into the corner of goalkeeper Matheus. 2 to 0 Corinthians!

Timão took advantage of the advantage to move twice more. Bahia and Luiz Eduardo were called in for Renato and Kayke. Thomas started to act as a defender for the remainder of the match.

With the need for a result, the home team went wild in search of a goal. In the 25th minute, Thiaguinho passed Vitinho and crossed. Ariel anticipated Thomas and tried to finish, but sent it into the net from the outside.

Corinthians dominated the actions. The first opportunity came from the right, in a play with Vitinho on the right sector, but Luiz Fernando was unable to finish from the penalty spot. After,

In the 36th minute, Danilo made Timão’s last substitutions. Laércio replaced Gui Negão, while Messias took the place of André and Caio Garcez in Thomas’s place.

The attacker even shone in the first play. Laércio stole the ball from the defender, in the 38th minute, advanced quickly and brought it to his left foot. Upon entering the area, he finished with a cross, with no chance for Matheus. 3 to 0 Corinthians.

Láercio almost scored the third goal. In stoppage time, the center forward took a long shot, but stopped in defense of Matheus. Final score, 3 to 0 Corinthians.
