Midfielder Gabriel Sara scored a great goal from outside the box (see below) this Saturday in England, during the game between Norwich City and Swansea, in the Championship (the country’s second division). He also provided an assist for Josh Sargent’s goal, but the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

— To be honest, when I mastered it, I already thought about doing that (laughter). I wasn’t expecting a goal like that, but I’m very happy that it happened — said the player.

A graduate of São Paulo’s youth teams, Gabriel Sara has 14 goals and 13 assists in 50 games for Norwich this season. He started 48 games.

The 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder was elected to the Championship squad for the 2023/24 season.

With that result against Swansea and West Bromwich’s defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, Norwich took fifth place in the English Championship table, with 73 points.

— It’s a little frustrating because we played a good game, we created chances and we could have killed the match, but we didn’t. I think we have to appreciate the importance of this point, but we can be much better in the final third. We can score more goals and be more lethal, but we will value this point and move forward — he said.

Teams that finish the season between third and sixth place on the Championship leaderboard will compete in a playoff tournament. Whoever comes out on top in this dispute will qualify for next season’s Premier League.
