Two minutes later he hit and tore hard in a performance of six maneuvers to win 8.00 points. With 3 minutes to go, leader and with priority, the Brazilian performed again and was even better to score 8.60 after performing eight maneuvers. The total of 16.60 points is the highest of the stage so far.

João and the American Levi Slawson were active, but were unable to get very far on the scoreboard. South African Luke Slijpen and United States surfer Nolan Rapoza only played after the 24th minute of the contest.

Eight minutes later he added another 4.73 to the total, after surfing a right with a more upright wall, but making small mistakes when executing some maneuvers.

Luke also made two attempts at small right hands and came close on both occasions with scores of 2.13 and 2.17 points. Nolan also surfed two more waves, but didn’t reach 1 point and was eliminated along with Luke (3rd). Levi used priority in the last minute, scored 4.87 and took first place from the Brazilian. He was in last place, but needed just 1.86 to advance. He took the third two minutes later, worth 4.00 and first place. But Jadson still had time to carry out new backside attacks, achieve 6.00 and win the duel. Lucas advanced in second place. Australian Winter Vincent (3rd) and Hawaiian Eli Hanneman (4th) were eliminated.
