The payment of 3rd installment of teachers’ court orders of the Ceará state education network will not be carried out on Monday, the day April 1st — as had been announced by the Government. The Education Departments (Seduc) and Planning and Management (Seplag) from the State of Ceará published a note, this Thursday morning (28), explaining the reason.

“The Departments of Education (Seduc) and Planning and Management (Seplag) of the State of Ceará inform that for technical reasons It will not be possible to pay the third installment of precatório for teachers in the State Education Network on April 1st, as previously announced”, says the statement.

Last March 6th, Governor Elmano de Freitas had informed the payment to the more than 50 thousand professionals who make up the apportionment of around R$629.2 million. Of this total, R$614.2 million refers to the judicial deposit of the third installment and the remainder, R$15 million, is interest related to the previous parts of the payment.

According to the statement signed by Seduc and Seplag, the secretariats are working to ensure that payment is made as soon as possible. No new date has been set with the provision of transfer to teachers.

Teachers’ union demands

On Wednesday (27), the president of the Apeoc union, Anízio Melo, filed a letter at the Abolition Palace to reiterate the stoppage of Education on April 4th. The category can vote on the start of the strike based on possible proposals to be presented or not by the Government.

Another point highlighted in the document was the demand for payment of the third installment of court orders. The union demanded an official position from the Government on the payment being made on April 1st.

The Apeoc union has not yet taken a position on the payment delay announced by the State.
