Criminal organization suspected of robbery, extortion and property crimes is the target of operations in MT and GO | Mato Grosso

The Civil Police served 24 warrants against suspected members of a criminal organization involved in robbery, extortion and property crimes, in Barra do Garças, Pontal do Araguaia and Aragarças (GO), this Tuesday morning (26), during Operation Counter Attack Red.

According to the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco), to date, the participation of at least eight people in the criminal organization, including a teenager, was identified.

Also according to Gaecco, eight search and seizure warrants, eight for breach of confidentiality of computer and telematic data, and eight precautionary measures for unavailability of assets were executed.

The term “Contra Red Attack” is an allusion to the context that aims to dismantle a branch of a criminal organization, operating in Barra do Garças, specialized in committing property crimes.

The action was carried out by the Unit of the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco), a permanent task force constituted by the Public Ministry of the State of Mato Grosso, Civil Police, Military Police, Criminal Police and Civil Socio-educational System.
