To closely monitor the impacts caused by the rain that hit the north and northwest of the State last weekend, the 24th and 24th, the Secretary of State for Education, Roberta Barreto, was at the Alcinda Lopes Pereira Pinto State College, in Bom Jesus from Itabapoana.

The school had its premises invaded by water and Roberta Barreto went to the unit to define strategies that could return the school to normal as quickly as possible.

– We are here with the team from Colégio Estadual Alcinda Lopes Pereira Pinto, in Bom Jesus do Itabapoana, to recover the school after the heavy rain. Governor Cláudio Castro determined that this unit should be a reference school in the state. And Seeduc-RJ will spare no efforts to rebuild this school environment for the community. From today onwards, it is our duty and mission to deliver a worthy school.” – said the secretary.

After the visit to the school, which will undergo repairs, the secretary and first lady Analine Castro met with the Secretary of Environment and Sustainability, Bernardo Rossi and other authorities at Bom Jesus do Itabapoana city hall to discuss the necessary measures to support the population.

“We are committed to joining forces with other government groups at this time when so many families need support to start over.” – said the first lady and honorary president of RioSolidário, Analine Castro.

This Tuesday, the 26th, three schools will have to have classes suspended due to the heavy rains that hit the state. The measure was taken to ensure the safety of students and staff in the most affected regions and to seek the reestablishment of pedagogical activities.

In other school units in the state network, Seeduc-RJ is following the official guidelines of each municipality regarding the suspension or not of classes.

CARE FOR RAIN VICTIMS

Since Saturday, the 23rd, the State Government’s Rain Committee has been carrying out several actions to welcome these families, such as opening school units to serve as support points for the population, distributing meals and donating clothes and non-perishable food.

Ten units were mobilized in six municipalities – Petrópolis, Cachoeiras de Macacu, Duque de Caxias, Bom Jesus do Itabapoana and Itaperuna.
Four of them remain open. They are: CE Governador Roberto Silveira, in Bom Jesus do Itabapoana;
CE Senador Sá Tinoco, in Itaperuna;
Ciep 479 – Dr. Mario Simão Assaf, in Cachoeiras de Macacu.

In Petrópolis, the Colégio Estadual Princesa Isabel, located in the Quitandinha neighborhood, helps by preparing and donating warm meals for residents sheltering in the city’s churches.

All 1,232 schools are ready to be used as support points at any time.
