The Secretary of Energy, Mining and Gas of Amazonas (SEMIG), Ronney Peixoto, assumed, this Wednesday (24), the presidency of the National Forum of State Secretaries of Mines and Energy – FNSME. The election took place during an ordinary general assembly, at the Ministry of Mines and Energy in Brasília.
The election fills the vacancy left after the removal of President Hugo Leal (RJ), requested by him. Secretary Ronney will continue for the 2023/2025 three-year period, after the election in which he competed against a representative from the northeast, but won with the majority of votes.
“Amazonas being elected is the recognition of all the work being done in the state of Amazonas, under the leadership of Governor Wilson Lima, to improve the business environment in the energy, mining and gas segments, seeking Amazonas’ leading role in this process of implementing new economic matrices for the development of our state”, stated the secretary.
Issues related to energy, mining and gas in the state have gained notoriety in Brazil and the world due to the importance given to these segments by the government of Amazonas. With the presidency of the forum, Amazonas takes the lead in the topic.
“The forum is a very important environment for discussing public policies, draft laws and regulations. Amazonas receives this presidency with great joy and we will work very hard to make this segment more important for our economy.” Said, Ronney.
The Forum
The National Forum of State Secretaries of Mines and Energy operates with the purpose of providing assistance, developing, managing, organizing and planning projects and technical studies of interest to the Secretaries of Mines and Energy of the States and the Federal District, promoting and representing its members, in all claims of interest to the segment of activities it integrates.
