Students from the Mato Grosso State Education Network have until May 25th to register for the 19th edition of the Thematic Traffic Student Festival (Fetran) 2024 project, promoted in partnership between the State Department of Education (Seduc-MT) and the Superintendency of the Federal Highway Police (PRF). Registration must be made via form, directly on the official site of the event.

The organizers’ expectation is to surpass the last edition of Fetran, which presented more than 100 shows in ten hub cities, bringing more than 3 thousand students and an audience of 15 thousand people to the stage.

In this edition, participants will be divided into four categories, namely children (1st to 6th year), children (7th to 9th year), youth (vocational high school and EJA), in addition to Special Education students. Registrations are taking place in the month in which awareness campaigns for traffic accidents are carried out, Yellow May.

For the Secretary of State for Education, Alan Porto, Fetran raises awareness, through art, of children and adolescents about the need to know the rules and laws that govern traffic, helping them in their training as future drivers. “Furthermore, it contributes to establishing good social coexistence and also promoting cultural and artistic production in the school environment,” he noted.

According to the secretary, the event also reinforces the commitment to transform attitudes and save lives, in addition to promoting inclusion among students. “In all editions there was a large participation of students from schools that serve the target audience of special education”, added the secretary.

For the project coordinator at PRF, inspector Enéias Cavalcante da Silva, Fetran has several positive impacts on society, such as reducing accidents.

“Students also have the opportunity to develop communication skills, teamwork, creativity and other skills associated with theater production, as well as for their lives,” he said.

In the inspector’s assessment, it is noticeable in some municipalities where other editions of the festival took place, that there was a significant change in the behavior of road users, such as the use of helmets by motorcyclists.

“Fetran is an educational project aimed at raising awareness about issues related to traffic, so the topics to be covered are suggested based on the subjects listed in the Brazilian Traffic Code”, he highlighted.
