The boy Lucas Morais, 11 years old, even though he is still so small, has already seen his life change drastically. Victim of a traffic accident in January 2023, he went from being a serelepe to someone with reduced mobility, as he cannot put his right foot on the ground.

To return to the routine of a child who runs and plays, he needs to undergo surgery costing R$80,000. Although it is still difficult to walk in life, in solidarity the halfway point has already been achieved with the collection of just over R$55,000 through a virtual fundraiser.

Mark this celebrated by the boy on social media (see the video above). But to complete the saga that lasts more than a year, the mother, Michelly Morais, spares no effort and continues asking for contributions to reach the goal. Lucas lost his right heel and broke his femur.

At the time, he was hospitalized for 40 days, underwent eight surgical procedures and needed six blood transfusions in the first week of hospitalization alone. He used an external fixator on his femur for six months and finally received it on December 11th.

Today the boy has a pin in his heel and a skin graft, however, to be able to step directly on the ground, he needs reconstructive surgery to shape his foot. According to the SUS (Unified Health System), there is no predicted date, given the waiting list.

As, in addition to not being able to perform basic activities, you feel pain when trying to step on the floor, you need to undergo the procedure immediately. “I don’t play running with my friends, I don’t play football and I feel very embarrassed to show my feet,” she says.
