Flamengo fans staged a protest this Friday morning, in front of Ninho do Urubu, before the start of the team’s training. Some players, including Vinã, Cebolinha and Arrascaeta, were stopped while driving into the training center. Training is scheduled for 9am.
Flamengo loses to Palestino and drops to third in the group
The door to Flamengo’s training center has had security reinforced since last Thursday, with the presence of police officers on site.
A banner was pasted on the door of the CT criticizing president Rodolfo Landim and Flamengo’s vice-president of football, Marcos Braz.
This is the second protest since the team’s return to Brazil, after the 1-0 defeat to Palestino in Chile, last Tuesday. When the team arrived in Rio de Janeiro, fans also demonstrated against the team’s recent performances.
Rubro-Negro is third in Group E of the Conmebol Libertadores with just four points: one win, one draw and two defeats. For now, he is outside the classification zone for the round of 16 and will decide his place in the games against Bolívar, on the 15th, and Millionarios, on the 28th, both at Maracanã.
