A man investigated for homicide in Povoado Taboca, in Itabaianinha, Sergipe, presented himself to the city police station this Thursday (9) after his image and identity were released by the Public Security Secretariat (SSP). He ended up being detained preventively.
According to police information, the crime occurred on May 6th. In the criminal attack, a man was killed with a knife. He is also investigated for the attempted murder of a woman.
According to delegate Gustavo Mendes, the person being investigated was hiding in the municipality of Cristinápolis. “And he went to the police station this Thursday in the presence of a lawyer,” he clarified.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime. “The preventive arrest warrant that was open against him was served. Now, the person being investigated will be presented at a custody hearing,” he added.
The Civil Police requests that information and reports about crimes and suspects of criminal actions be passed on to the police via the Hotline on phone 181. Confidentiality is guaranteed.
