A French businessman was shot dead in the early afternoon of this Thursday (6), during a robbery that took place in the East Zone of Natal, according to the Military Police.
After shooting, the criminals fled taking the victim’s car, who was identified by the police as Jean-Pierre Roumilhac, 73, owner of a hotel on Pipa beach, in Tibau do Sul.
The crime took place on São João Street, near Alexandrino de Alencar Avenue, in the Lagoa Seca neighborhood.
According to the Military Police, two ambulances from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) were called to the scene and the paramedics tried to revive the man who was shot for about an hour, but he could not resist.

Witnesses told the police that four criminals acted in the robbery and shot him at least once. One of the officers who arrived first at the scene reported that he saw a mark on the victim’s chest, on the right side.
The witnesses also reported that the businessman had gone to the place to shop at a natural spices grocery store, which he attended weekly.
The car stolen by the criminals, a white Gol model, was abandoned minutes after the crime in the Alecrim neighborhood, between 4th and 12th avenues. Experts from the Technical-Scientific Institute of Forensics went to the scene to look for clues.
No suspects have been arrested as of the last update of this article.
