Alejandra Rodríguezat 60 years old, won the title of the 2024 edition of the miss Universe Buenos Aires last Sunday, the 21st. With this victory, the model advances to compete for the national title in Miss Argentina – and if she is victorious, she will have the opportunity to represent the country in the international contest.
Rodríguez, lawyer and journalist, lives and works in the city of La Plata, in Buenos Aires. Her debut in the beauty competition only occurred because, in 2022, the age restriction for participants was removed – previously, candidates for the Miss Universe title needed to be between 18 and 28 years old.
What draws public and media attention to the candidate is her appearance. At 60 years old, Rodríguez appears to be far from the age recorded on his birth certificate.
According to what the miss shared in an interview with the morning program Arriba Argentinos, from Canal 13, an Argentine operator, she leads a healthy life, making appropriate food choices and practicing physical exercise. “Normal care. Nothing too extraordinary,” she added.
She also admitted to being a fan of intermittent fasting, a practice in which people only eat at certain times of the day, and a fan of organic foods, fruits and vegetables.
According to the Instagram post by Franzy Lezcano, director of the competition, Rodríguez enjoys going out for walks, being in contact with nature and traveling. As for her musical taste, she leans toward tango, Latin American music and deep, poetic lyrics.
When does Miss Universe 2024 take place?
The 73rd edition of the Miss Universe beauty pageant will be held in Mexico this year, on a date yet to be announced. Sheynnis Palaciosfrom Nicaragua, will crown her successor at the end of the event, which will be broadcast worldwide on the Roku Channels streaming platform.
What’s new this year is that women from all cities will be eligible for the crown.
So far, nine candidates have been confirmed for the competition: Halima Hoy (Belize), Jia Qi (China), Indira Ampiot (France), Christianna Katsieri (Greece), Madina Almukhanova (Kazakhstan), Maya Turdalieva (Kyrgyzstan), Nominzul Zandangiin (Mongolia), Franki Russell (New Zealand) and Ileana Márquez (Venezuela).
