Destruction marks the Gaza Strip; Israel denies having buried Palestinians in mass graves
The number of bodies removed from mass graves around the Nasser Hospital, in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, reached 324.
The number was released this Thursday (25) by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (Ocha) and is based on information from the Palestinian Civil Defense.
In addition to Khan Younis, from where Israeli forces withdrew in early April, mass graves were also found near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, north of the enclave.
Both the UN and the European Union called for international investigations into the case, while the United States defined the episode as “disturbing” and asked Israel for answers.
The Israeli Army, in turn, denied having buried Palestinians in mass graves and said it exhumed corpses to look for possible bodies of hostages kidnapped on October 7, but then buried them again in the same places.
According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, an enclave controlled by the fundamentalist group Hamas, more than 34,300 people have died during the war.
