Cardiologist Sérgio José Dias Pacheco Júnior, from Santa Casa de Piracicaba, will receive on Wednesday (27) the title of Piracicaba Citizen from the City Council. The recognition is an initiative of councilor Thiago Ribeiro.

The doctor has been at Santa Casa since 2006, and has worked in sectors such as the Medical Clinic, Coronary Unit and ICUs I and II, in addition to having worked in the fight against Covid-19 during the disease pandemic period. “Everything was new and, with the support of Dr Sérgio Pacheco Júnior, alongside a team of other great and brilliant professionals, the Institution proved capable of dealing with medical-assistance, technological and human challenges”, said the provider of Santa Casa, Alexandre Valvano. “To talk about Dr. Sérgio Pacheco Júnior is to revisit an important phase in the history of Santa Casa de Piracicaba itself from March 2006, when he joined the Institution’s Clinical Staff as a cardiologist; in fact, a brilliant professional in his field”, said the provider.
For the technical director of Santa Casa, Dr Andre Gervatoski Lourenço, granting the title of Cidadão Piracicabano to Sérgio Pacheco Júnior is to make official what the honoree has always demonstrated in his daily practice: care and love for life with faith, dedication and determination. “Attitudes like this ennoble the spirit of the Holy Houses and make respect and commitment towards others tangible through unconditional devotion to the profession”, he considered.
The ceremony will take place in the main hall of the Piracicaba Chamber and will be attended by deputy ombudsman João Orlando Pavão, who will represent Valvano in the tribute. Hospital administrator Vanda Petean, the superintendent of the Santa Casa Saúde Piracicaba plan, Ruy Nogueira, and the plan administrator, Marilene Lemos, will also honor the honor.
