Several tornadoes hit the eastern portion of the US states of Nebraska and Iowa this Friday, 26. In Lincoln, Nebraska, a resident recorded the moment a giant tornado crosses the road while cars still pass along the road.

In Omaha, the storm left a trail of destruction in a neighborhood. “Some houses were swept away and no longer exist. Most of the homes in this immediate area have suffered significant damage and it will likely be a long cleanup effort,” Thomas Hinterdorfer told CNN.

There is still no information on the number of victims and homeless people. There are reports of people under the rubble in their basements. Firefighters and police were sent to the affected areas to help people who were injured.

Tornadoes are more frequent this time of year in the American Midwest and are expected to intensify over the weekend due to severe weather. Therefore, local authorities have established a state of alert for tornadoes for the next few days.
