Chevrolet shows S10 2025 with Spin panel and new generation engine

-

Chevrolet has revealed the first official images of the new S10 2025, which will go on pre-sale this Friday, April 5th. Just like Spin 2025, this is not a generational change but rather a profound restyling. The deepest Chevrolet’s midsize pickup has ever been.

The first images released just don’t show the side of the pickup, which is perhaps the only part that is kept almost as it was before. But they show the new front design, with more horizontal lines and narrow headlights, very similar to those of the American pickup truck, Chevrolet Colorado. They are more tapered, reaching part of the side and giving more sophistication to the front.

The grille is also completely new with chrome fins that accompany a wide horizontal bar that displays the brand’s tie – it is also inspired by the bigger sister, but on the S10 it is a little more discreet. In fact, the S10 did not surrender to the split headlights as seen on the Montana and the new Spin.

At the rear, the changes are due to the new designs of the lights, which continue with conventional lamps in the main lights, in addition to the new trunk lid. This lid has the inscription “Chevrolet” in low relief and the reversing camera integrated into the handle. The bumper is the same, but the chrome on the edge has a protector.

The panel is what really followed the North American Chevrolet Colorado. All thanks to having integrated the new 8-inch digital instrument panel with the new 11” multimedia center, which represents the new generation of MyLink. It’s the set that has just debuted at Spin, and required new air conditioning outlets with buttons just below.

The central part of the dashboard has a soft finish with contrasting stitching, there are two front USB ports and the automatic air conditioning continues with just one zone. It is also the first time that this generation of the S10 changes the steering wheel, which, finally, may have gained depth adjustment.

As for the engine, Chevrolet says that the The big news will be the debut of a new generation of turbodiesel engine, but no further details have yet been revealed. “Consumers can look forward to an innovative technology that combines performance, energy efficiency, emissions and drivability at a level never seen before in the country”, says Rafael Santos, vice president of Sales, After-Sales and Marketing at GM South America.

Until then, the pickup had a 2.8 four-cylinder turbodiesel under the hood (200 hp and 51 kgfm), but the brand created expectations for something different, in addition to the obligation to make this engine meet the new Proconve emissions phase, which begins to come into force in 2025. Therefore, it should be more economical. There is still no information about the transmission, but there is an expectation that the pickup will feature an eight-speed automatic transmission, replacing the current six-speed gearbox.
