Unimed Campinas beats Corinthians in the LBF

Unimed Campinas achieved an important victory in the Women’s Basketball League (LBF). With a turnaround in the last quarter, the team from Campinas defeated Corinthians 64-62 to move up to fourth place in the LBF general classification. The winner this Friday (3) was Bax Catanduva, who beat Pontz/São José by 78 to 52.

Corinthians started better in the duel against Unimed Campinas. With a good performance in the paint, the team went into the break winning the game 31 to 25. The difference fluctuated during the second half, but Timão led the score 60 to 49 with five minutes to go. But Campinas managed a run in the final minutes to close the gap and win the game 64-62.

Pivot forward Licinara was the scorer and MVP of the match, with a double-double: 20 points and 12 rebounds. On the Corinthians side, a good performance from pivot Gil Justino, who led the black and white attack with 19 points.

Third victory

In the other game of the night, Bax Catanduva and Pontz/São José faced each other at Ginásio Anuar Pachá. Dominant from the start of the match, Catanduva achieved his third victory in LBF 2024 by 36 points. Mainly responsible for the difference in the score was Bárbara Souza, who made seven of ten shots from the perimeter. With 38 efficiency, she was the MVP of the match. There were 29 points and 16 rebounds for the BAX Catanduva athlete. On the São José side, Gabrielly Parro was the team’s top scorer with 11 points.
