After Labor Day (May 1st), the next national holiday that will allow weekdays off falls in November, on 15/11, which celebrates 135 years of the proclamation of the Republic.

Still in 2024, there remain six national holidays and others two optional pointsrespectively: Independence of Brazil (7 September), Nossa Senhora Aparecida (12 October), All Souls’ Day (2 November), Proclamation of the Republic (15 November), Black Consciousness (20 November) and Christmas (25 December ), in addition to the optional ones Corpus Christi (May 30) and Public Servant Day (October 28).
Of the holidays, three fall on Saturdays. See the list of upcoming commemorative dates in 2024:
- May 12th (Mother’s Day)Sunday: commemorative date and not a holiday;
- May 30th (Corpus Christi), fifth: optional point. The same goes for the next day (31st), allowing for “time off” until the 3rd;
- June 24th (Saint John)Monday: commemorative date and not a holiday;
- August 11th (Father’s Day)Sunday: commemorative date and not a holiday;
- September 7th (Independence of Brazil)Saturday: national holiday;
- October 12th (Children’s Day and Our Lady of Aparecida)Saturday: national holiday;
- October 28th (Public Servants Day)second: optional point;
- November 2nd (Deceased)Saturday: national holiday;
- November 15th (Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic), Friday: national holiday. Possibility of extending the holiday until the 18th;
- November 19th (Flag Day)Tuesday: commemorative date and not a holiday;
- November 20th (National Zombie and Black Consciousness Day)Wednesday — transformed into a national holiday in 2023. There is the possibility of amending it until the 25th;
- December 24th (Christmas Eve), Tuesday: optional point. Traditionally after 2pm;
- December 25th (Christmas), Wednesday: national holiday. It generally takes place on a rota system in most companies, but there is the possibility of extending the holiday until January 1st;
- December 31st (New Year), Tuesday: optional point. Traditionally after 2pm.
