A 74-year-old woman is being held on $100,000 bail after robbing a bank in Hamilton, Ohio.

A 74-year-old woman was arrested after robbing a bank in Hamilton, in the US state of Ohio.
According to CBS News, it all happened on April 19, when the woman, wearing a protective mask and neutral clothing, entered a branch and “demanded money while showing a gun.” Hours later she was surprised by the police at her home, where she admitted to the crime.
Police shared photographs of the woman entering the bank branch, where she took $500.
According to the police chief, the woman had been the victim of an online scam and owed thousands of dollars to her family and friends.
“He told me that he once stole some candy, but that other than that he had never stolen anything. He told me that he didn’t know why he did it, just out of desperation,” the police officer explained to CBS News.
The same officer said the woman had recently spoken to her sister about robbing a bank, but that she “didn’t believe it.”
The woman was charged with aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence and is being held on $100,000 bail.
