After 12 years, Madonna performs her fourth show in Brazil. With a security scheme worthy of a queen, which includes observation towers, drones, facial recognition and blocking, parents and guardians decided to take their children to watch the megashow. The queen of pop entered the stage shortly after 10:30 pm.
The Ceará couple Francisca Edilene and Egberto Cavalcante have lived in Rio for years and took their 10-year-old nephew João Lucas to see the queen of pop up close.
They got a spot very close to the stage, but on the sidewalk – where it was less crowded. Even so, little João was scared by the amount of people.
“He hadn’t come yet, he wasn’t with us on New Year’s Eve. And he thinks he’s never seen so many people at the same time, but so far he’s pretty sure, we’ll try to stay until the end of the show. As for trawling, we weren’t afraid, but rather doubtful ‘will it happen or not?’. But so far we haven’t seen it.”
Maria Elisa Bernardes Venturini said she thought a lot before deciding to take her son, Benício, to the show.
“I wasn’t sure if I was going to bring him. I was afraid and thought about leaving it with my husband at home, but walking through the streets I saw that it was fine and I brought it with me. It’s impossible to miss Madonna, who totally shaped my childhood.”
More than 3 thousand police officers patrol Copacabana. 64 vehicles and 65 observation towers are also used.
