The Ministry of Communications (Mcom) published the ordinances authorizing the Television Retransmission Service (RTV) of new channels for 19 cities in Bahia in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU), this Thursday (25), by the Ministry of Communications (Mcom). In this way, more information, culture and entertainment options will reach more than 700 thousand inhabitants of the State.
“We are committed to providing the Brazilian population with access to Digital TV, providing citizens with higher quality programming without the risk of interference on the channels”, said the Minister of Communications, Juscelino Filho.
According to information from Mcom, in total, the ministry’s authorizations benefit 19 municipalities in Bahia. They are: Poções, Ipirá, Esplanada, Riachão do Jacuípe, Santaluz, Piritiba, Itagibá, Santa Luzia, Sátiro Dias, Rio do Pires, Ipiaú, Euclides da Cunha, Ilhéus, Ibirapuã, Riacho de Santana, Santa Cruz da Vitória, Inhambupe, Pilão Arcado and Cândido Sales.
The authorizations are for the Bahia Educational Broadcasting Institute (Irdeb), responsible for programming TVE, the state’s public broadcaster.
In the locations covered, once the transmission works, the experience of watching television becomes more immersive and engaging, including more Brazilians accessing high-resolution television programming and without the discomfort of interference on the channels.
For minister Juscelino Filho, the goal is to ensure that the Digital TV service reaches all locations in the country. “From big cities to small towns, our mission is to ensure that everyone, without exception, has access to quality transmission,” he said.
With the grants published in the DOU, broadcasters must observe the deadlines for obtaining authorization to use radio frequency from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) and request the station’s licensing before starting the operation.
