Lima Duarte turns 94 years old this Friday (29) and lives isolated on a farm in the city of Indaiatuba, in the interior of São Paulo. There, he shares his routine on social media with his more than 700 thousand followers.

Throughout his activities on the web, the veteran has already displayed treasures such as clothes and paintings of the character Sassá Mutema from O Salvador da Pátria (1989). To post, he has the help of his granddaughters, like Paloma Duarte.

The actor took refuge there since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic there. Since then, he has only had two brief works on TV: in the series Aruanas in 2021 and in some chapters of Além da Ilusão (2022).

Lima Duarte lost her daughter

Last month, Lima Duarte lost her daughter who was just 49 years old. The cause of death was not disclosed.

“When everyone I know is gone, what will be left? Emptiness. Silence. Yes, the rest is silence.” This quote, taken from a famous passage from the work Hamlet, by the English playwright William Shakespeare (1564-1616).

Married four times, Lima Duarte also stood out as a father. In addition to Julia, Lima had three other children. When married to Marisa Sanchez, he took over raising Débora, the result of his wife’s previous relationship. With Mara Martins, Lima had two more children: Pedro and Júlia.

Lima Duarte was acquitted by the courts

Earlier this month, the actor was cleared by the courts in a traffic accident case that occurred last year. “After a thorough investigation that exhaustively investigated the facts, the Public Prosecutor requested the shelving of the investigation, which was later confirmed by none other than the Attorney General of the State of São Paulo”, begins an official note.

According to the veteran’s defense, the filing eliminates blame for the accident and also “any insinuation that the financial assistance given by the actor to the motorcyclist involved in the accident shortly after the incident could constitute any irregularity.”

At the time, the veteran gave R$30,000 to the woman after the accident. For lawyers, the gesture was a humanitarian act.
