No Rest for the Wicked is the new game from Moon Studios, a soulslike action RPG from the indie producer that introduced you to two stunning metroidvania games called Ori. Available since April 18th in early access on Steam, No Rest for the Wicked is receiving immense praise and despite performance issues, it is receiving updates that are being well received by players.

For George Broussard, creator of 3D Realms and known as one of the creators of Duke Nukem, No Rest for the Wicked is his GOTY, a game that he describes as “phenomenal”, despite still being in the early stages of its early access. .

“Expectations. You have to know that this is 100% a Souls experience. Without discussion. It’s not a Diablo or a traditional ARPG. It’s Dark Souls and it requires excellence, persistence and dedication to play. It will destroy you if you are a Diablo player who has never played a Souls game, looking for a Diablo experience.”

“It’s stunning and the art is amazing. The level design is world class and has endless secrets, cyclical paths and all the twisty connections you love in a Souls game – The sound and actors’ voices are perfect. The combat is familiar and it feels good and sticks with you.”

Broussard https://twitter.com/georgebsocial/status/1782886799435551104 problems for Souls players, such as collecting materials for potions or meals that heal, the concept of creating new Realms to gain more XP in easier areas, but suggests accumulating many healing items, learning to combat and not becoming too heavy to be able to dodge of the blows.

Furthermore, it highlights the feeling of being lost in this game, due to its atmosphere and stunning world, without forgetting the systems that grab you and make you lose track of time. “You’ll be stuck in a cycle of ‘just one more level’. The game really starts in earnest when you defeat the first boss, reach the city and start learning how to improve weapons and equipment.”

Broussard recognizes that it is a very demanding game for most players’ equipment, especially due to the demands on processors, but says that after 20 hours of playing and close to seeing all the content, he begins to feel sad thinking that he will have to wait long months to see everything that Moon Studios is preparing.

Despite this praise, he believes that the producer made a mistake in promoting No Rest for the Wicked as an Action RPG, as it generated wrong ideas when it comes to a Soulslike that will alienate many players, to the point of leaving a bad review.
