Samsung continues to distribute One UI 6.1 to all compatible smartphones around the world and with almost all the AI features of the Galaxy S24 line.

However, many users have noticed that the Galaxy S23 family is not receiving the Super HDR feature for its cameras. Commenting on the matter, a Samsung forum moderator confirmed that this functionality will be limited to new smartphones.

According to this representative of the Korean brand, even though the Galaxy S23 line has processing power and OLED screens with HDR, the Super HDR feature needs a “marriage” between these elements to work.

A curious point is that Super HDR is now available for the mid-range Galaxy A35 and A55 5G. Therefore, a lack of processing power is not something that can be used as a justification by Samsung in the case of the Galaxy S23 line.

Apparently, the Korean company would need to make significant and profound changes to the software of older devices and this could generate some unwanted bugs. Therefore, she decided not to risk it.

It is worth remembering that Samsung’s Super HDR is based on Android 14’s Ultra HDR, and the smartphone captures photos and videos in this format to display on the device’s screen.

If desired, the user can also share files with deeper colors and better dynamic range on their social networks.
