Center forward Tiquinho Soares suffered a muscle injury to his thigh and will be absent at Botafogo for at least six weeks. The player felt the problem in the 3-1 victory over Universitario, in the Libertadores.

If the prediction established by Glorioso’s medical department is fulfilled, the number 9 will only play again after June 7th. The first game after that date is against Athletico-PR at the Nilton Santos Stadium, which does not yet have a date set by the CBF.

- Flamengo x Botafogo – 11am – 28/04
- Botafogo x Vitória – 7pm – 02/05

The injury further increases Artur Jorge’s headaches in the offensive sector. Botafogo had already lost Matheus Nascimento, who will be sidelined for four months due to a serious muscle injury, and Janderson, recently traded to Vitória.
Against Universitario, the coach’s solution was to put Eduardo in Tiquinho’s place. An original midfielder, the number 33 acted as a kind of second striker, while Júnior Santos, who normally plays this role, was the main center forward.
Since Artur Jorge’s arrival, Júnior Santos has always worked in a centralized role, marked by freedom to float. The tendency is for the number 11 to become the center forward, taking Tiquinho’s place.
