A survey released this Tuesday (7) by the National Transport Confederation (CNT) showed the worsening approval of the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), between January and May this year.
According to the survey, 37% of those interviewed consider the Lula government to be positive (in January this year the percentage was 43%) and 30% of those interviewed consider the PT government to be negative (in January the percentage was 28%).
“Compared to January’s numbers, we see a significant drop in the federal government’s popularity, with the positive rating falling from 43% to 37%. The negative evaluation rose by 2 percentage points”, explained Bruno Batista, director of the CNT.
CNT research: assessment of the Lula government
The detailed survey shows that 12.7% consider the Lula government to be excellent; 24.8% consider the current management to be good; 30.6% consider the government to be regular; 8% consider the Lula government to be bad; and 22.5% consider the PT government to be terrible. Another 1.5% were unable to answer.
“President Lula’s government is losing popularity among society. It is necessary to advance projects and actions that can boost the economy, reduce the feeling of insecurity and improve public service service. The relationship between the federal government and Congress must evolve to improve the perception of constructive dialogue and mutual assistance for the rapid progress of priority projects”, assessed Vander Costa, president of the CNT.
